Re-thinking progress: The Circular Economy

Updated: Jan 29

After quitting my job, I didn't really know what my next step was going to look like. Learning more about sustainability was one of the things I was keen on doing! A friend recommended to read the book Cradle-to-Cradle: Remaking the way we make things by Michael Braungart and William MacDonough, and that's when it clicked. This is it, this is the way forward! We cannot keep living in a world where we keep producing more products and therefore more waste, we are throwing away perfectly good resources which we will never be able to recover. There has to be another way.

Even though I haven't figured out my business model quite yet, I still believe in the power of the circular economy and am convinced this is what we all need to work towards. Combining this with the framework of Doughnut Economics by Kate Raworth, is the only way forward where we can all thrive together and within a healthy environment.

I wanted to share this video with you to show you exactly what the circular economy is all about.

Video produced by Ellen MacArthur Foundation, advocate of the circular economy.
